California School of Management & Leadership

The mission of California School of Management & Leadership (CSML) is to prepare individuals for professional careers of the future in business, information systems & technology, digital business disciplines, leadership, and management. We develop intellectually engaged, culturally sensitive, and globally aware leaders who recognize economic opportunities and work towards equitable economic empowerment at all levels of society. As scholars and professional practitioners, we prepare our students to address challenges with integrity and compassion.

CSML is a different kind of management school. It combines experiential learning and practical training with multidisciplinary approaches, models and theories to help students gain the skills needed to help contemporary organizations identify and address modern problems. CSML weaves technology and quantitative aspects with the richness and diversity of Business and Management when training students in its programs. CSML trains through a global perspective to prepare its graduates for career success.

Since we believe it is so important to teach management in a broad economic and social context, we have broadened our mission. In CSML programs, we are moving business education from a focus on wealth-creation toward an emphasis on economic empowerment for the communities served while solving problems in the local and global contexts. We encourage students to explore ideas across boundaries - international, disciplinary, and even mindsets - and to collaborate in applying what they have learned in real-world and client projects.

CSML’s ConsultEX program is designed to provide students with Practical Training opportunities and applied experience in real-world projects. CSML programs require Practical Training throughout the program starting from Day1. Students work on client projects or applied projects which allow them to gain valuable skills. The program is lead by faculty experts with several years of experience who guide and advise students. It is a highly collaborative environments with work in teams to build professionalism, work discipline, teamwork and communication skills. We have a rich international tradition with students from over 100 countries studying with us in CSML and its predecessor, US International University (USIU). CSML students are made up of diverse backgrounds and nationalities, and this adds value to our School, to the provided education, and to our widely located alumni network in many ways.

Our students benefit from close interaction with a faculty characterized by professional and business experience as well as academic credentials. They participate in classes that emphasize an applied approach to professional preparation.

CSML programs deliver courses in an 8-week duration. Most programs feature executive evening courses meeting one evening a week for our graduate business programs. We also offer weekend courses with “blended” learning communities in some of our program cohorts (further details in catalog).

Information about the CSML programs can be found in the Programs  section of the catalog.

Licensure

All psychologists who offer direct services to the public for a fee must be licensed or certified by the state in which they practice. Applicants for licensure in the state of California must hold an earned doctoral degree in psychology, educational psychology, education with a specialization in counseling psychology, or education with a specialization in educational psychology from an approved or accredited educational institution. They also must have completed 3,000 hours of supervised professional experience (of which at least 1,500 must be postdoctoral) and have taken and passed the national Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) and the California Psychology Supplemental Examination (CPSE). In addition, they must submit evidence of having completed coursework in human sexuality, child abuse, substance abuse, spousal abuse, and aging and long-term care. Continuing education is required to maintain the license. CSPP doctoral course requirements are designed to fulfill the programmatic requirements for licensure in California, and in some cases, they exceed the requirements.

Every state has its own requirements for licensure. Therefore, it is essential that all CSPP Clinical PsyD and PhD students who plan to apply for licensure in states other than California contact the licensing board in those states for information on state requirements (e.g., coursework, practicum and internship hours, supervision, or nature of the doctoral project or dissertation). Students seeking licensure in other states should plan ahead to ensure they meet all of those states’ requirements.

San Francisco Law School

San Francisco Law School is dedicated to providing the opportunity for a quality legal education to a diverse student population, many of whom are working full-time jobs and have family responsibilities while attending law school.

For over 100 years, San Francisco Law School has been devoted to educating attorneys who embody the highest skills of the legal profession and are committed to the ethical practice of the profession.

Since its earliest days, San Francisco Law School has been a model of non-discrimination, diversity, inclusion, and opportunity. Students at San Francisco Law School seek to better their own lives and that of their families and communities. Historically, students are the first in their families to be in a doctoral program and, for some, the first to have graduated from college.

San Francisco Law School is a school of Alliant International University, an institution accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

San Francisco Law School is a Registered Unaccredited Law School with the State Bar of California.

The method of instruction at this law school for the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree program is principally by technological means including interactive classes.

Students enrolled in the J.D. degree program at this law school who successfully complete the first year of law study must pass the First-Year Law Students’ Examination required by Business and Professions Code § 6060(h) and Title 4, Division 1, Chapter 1 Rule 4.3(I) of the of the Rules of the State Bar of California as part of the requirements to qualify to take the California Bar Examination. A student who passes the First-Year Law Students’ Examination within three (3) administrations of the examination after first becoming eligible to take it will receive credit for all legal studies completed to the time the examination is passed. A student who does not pass the examination within three (3) administrations of the examination after first becoming eligible to take it must be promptly disqualified from the law school’s J.D. degree program. If the dismissed student subsequently passes the examination, the student is eligible for re-enrollment in this law school’s J.D. degree program, but will receive credit for only one year of legal study.

Study at, or graduation from, this law school may not qualify a student to take the bar examination or to satisfy the requirements for admission to practice in jurisdictions other than California. A student intending to seek admission to practice law in a jurisdiction other than California should contact the admitting authority in that jurisdiction for information regarding the legal education requirements in that jurisdiction for admission to the practice of law.
