ACR 6400 - Criminological Research and Data Analysis(3 units) Provides an overview of social science research methods employed by criminologists in public and private sectors. Develops rudimentary tools needed for critically evaluating reports and scientific works, synthesizing information, and creating scholarly papers in criminal justice. Examines the various types of data used within criminal justice and the fundamentals of statistics and analysis. Provides an analysis of the appropriate use of data, the limits of various methods, how data is collected, and how to interpret findings. Policy implications of data will also be discussed.
