EDU 6891B - Clinical Practice II: K-12 Special Education (Student Teachers)(1.5 units) In this course, Special Education teacher-candidates learn how to create lesson plans, classroom management strategies, instructional strategies, and the spectrum of placement options and services offered in K-12 Special Education programs. Teacher-candidates will conduct 60 total hours of observation in K-12 classrooms over the two terms of Clinical Practice I and II, with 20 hours dispersed at each grade level (elementary, middle, and high school). Additionally, teacher-candidates will gain experience in observing and writing observation reports on the spectrum of placement options and services available for students with IEPs including general education inclusion classes, special day classes, and service providers such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, or adapted physical education.
