This course presents an overview of research on the value of expressive nonverbal behavior for physicians, educators, leaders, and psychotherapists. The bulk of the course is devoted to practicing improvisational methods designed to promote expressive nonverbal behavior. At the end of the course, students will be familiar with extensive research linking expressive nonverbal behavior to positive social outcomes. They will have explored their own expressive range, including in clinical role-play application.
