MGT60010 - Technology Enabled Operations Management and Logistics

(3 units)
This course combines topics in operations and logistics such that students learn how the flow of goods, services, and information within and between firms can be managed effectively and efficiently. The course exposes students to approaches on how to develop processes that facilitate efficient and cost-effective flow through a variety of supply chains. Students will work with logistics technologies ranging from digital twins and cloud logistics to real-time supply chain visibility and shipment tracking systems and analytics. The operations portion of this course teaches students general management and technical skills in areas such as quality, operations planning and control systems, and operations strategy. The logistics segment addresses current issues and topics in the management of the flow of product through the supply chain. A venture/business plan is developed during the course. Students will be required to apply the concepts learnt during the course by engaging in Practical Training in an applied setting, client project or internship. This will align with CSML’s Career and Professional Development (CPD) plan and goals.
