PSY85030M - Elective Clinical Research Assessment Practicum II

(1 Unit)


This elective professional clinical research assessment experience is optional to be taken in the fourth year by PhD students. It involves 10-16 hours per week of supervised clinical research assessments and training for participants presenting with trauma exposure and co-morbid psychopathology in an agency affiliated with CSPP-San Francisco clinical research and field training such as the San Francisco VAMC PTSD and Sleep labs. All students receive direct training in trauma assessments and co-morbid psychopathology utilizing clinician administered assessments such as the SCID and CAPS along with other clinician and self-report measures during the seminar. The clinical research training will provide application of assessment techniques that will vary depending on the site and clinical research project. All students receive direct experience in assessment during the practicum, although the specific nature and extent of assessment activities varies among research projects and settings.  

This course may replace PSY99270 PhD Research Seminar IV Fall (1 Unit elective) and PSY99280 PhD Research Seminar IV Spring (1 Unit elective ) or this course may be used to fulfill one elective unit. This course may also fulfill the Military Psychology Experience Area Practicum.
