Program Description/Overview
This credential-only program prepares practicing educators for leadership within a TK-12 educational setting leading to a preliminary Administrative Services Credential in California or an Interim Principal Certificate in Arizona. The program emphasizes the development of knowledge, skills, and dispositions characteristic of effective and innovative administrative leaders inclusive of the capacity for problem solving, conflict resolution, and working with diverse individuals, families, and communities. Practical situations in educational settings are thematically integrated with theory in all aspects of the curriculum. The new program name- Preliminary Administrative Services Credential is approved by our accreditor, WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and our state authorizing agency the Bureau for Private Post-Secondary Education (BPPE). However, the new program name is NOT currently approved as an eligible program for federal financial aid under Title IV of the Higher Education Act. Students are urged to contact a financial aid advisor regarding options that may be available pending approval of the program for federal financial aid. The information may be used to make informed decisions about enrollment into the program. While not guaranteed, funding source options for the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential program may change upon the program’s successful certification by the US Department of Education.
