LDR80000A - Leadership Practicum(1.5 units) The purpose of this series of leadership practicum courses is to offer students a learning experience in an applied leadership environment. Students learn through practical application and implementation in applied settings of an internship, client projector practical project. The Leadership Practicum courses are run as a learning model of a community of learners and incorporates peer review and collaboration. The learning experience is a holistic view of applying the research process and has a high intellectual stimulation which will enable students to be engaged in discourse and activities to enhance their scholarly as well as professional skills and competencies. Included in the practicum courses is a module on extending literature search into a model for research, data collection strategy for their specific project, data analysis and an examination of qualitative and quantitative strategies. The course will also cover consulting practices as a field to apply research skills to clients and organizations. For each 1.5 units of practicum course, students will need to spend 120-160 hours (minimum 15 hours per week) in a supervised applied engagement during the course.
