PPS72250 - Addictions Counseling

This is an introductory course on addictions counseling, including substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. We will differentiate between addiction and dependency and examine major approaches to the identification of these disorders. Various methods for assessment, prevention, and treatment of substance abuse will be analyzed and we will explore community resources and support systems available to families.
