PPS70220 - Internship or Culminating Field Experience III

(2.5 units)

This third level of field experience provides a comprehensive theory through placement in a local school setting. A site supervisor and university supervisor will provide guidance and support during the field experience. Candidates will have the opportunity to practice and apply the following areas of practice, (a) peer counseling related to a university or college program practicum course; (b) personal and career assessments; (c) personal counseling experience in either an individual or group context; (d) school-based programs serving parents and family members; (e) community service programs serving children and families; (f) school related experience such as “shadowing” a school counselor, observing classroom instruction, attending district and school-based meetings, and mapping school-based community resources.
