This course provides students with foundational knowledge about the historical and contemporary principles and practices related to forensic linguistics, as well as the numerous contexts in which they may be applied. The course covers topics such as evaluation of authorship, discourse analysis, forensic phonetics, linguistic dialectology, linguistics in court, plagiarism detection, technology, security and threat assessment.
