NUR60050 - Scholarship & Evidence-Based Practice

In this course, students will experience topics that provide a broad understanding of nursing research and evidence-based practice. Students will learn information literacy skills and understand the relationships among quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research. As part of the learning experience, students will apply database research skills, identify interdisciplinary research and outcomes data, critically appraise research and the research process, and learn how to integrate scientific evidence to inform best practices. Legal, ethical, and cultural issues in research and methods of expanding an individual’s evidence-based nursing practice will be examined. The course assignments allow students to apply skills and build a body of knowledge that will support the successful completion of the end-of-course EBP project and promote students’ future scholarly work.
