PSY65014 - Intellectual Assessment(4 units) This course is designed to inform students about (1) contemporary theories and ideas regarding the nature of intelligence and intelligence testing; (2) techniques and applications required to make appropriate use of some standard measures of intelligence; (3) the genetic and cultural factors involved in intelligence assessment; and (4) approaches to writing clinical evaluations. The course will emphasize the development and use of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-IV (WAIS-IV) and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-V (WISC-V). Additional measures of intelligence that will be introduced include the: Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-III (WPPSI-IV); Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale: 5th Ed. (S-B); Leiter International Performance Scale-III; Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children: 2 (K-ABC2); and additional measures will include, Draw-a-Person-Test, Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration 6th ed, the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test: IV and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales: 3rd Ed.
