PSY85600 - Advanced Ethics, Law, Supervision and Consultation Issues(3 units) Advanced Ethics, Law, Supervision and Consultation Issues is a required class of the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program that engages students in graduate-level content that supports the mastery of the profession-wide competencies of ethics, law, diversity, professional values and attitudes, assessment, communication, intervention, supervision, consultation, and interdisciplinary skills. The course builds upon the information and skills obtained in prior professional development and consultation courses and practicum experiences to prepare students to practice health service psychology in an ethical and legal manner. This course will challenge students to synthesize their coursework and academic work experience in preparation to become a licensed psychologist. The integral role of supervision and consultation in ethical and legal practice will be emphasized to encourage the seeking of supervision/consultation, and to prepare students to effectively engage in consultation and supervision.
