PSY93300 - Teaching Family Therapy and Systems Theory(3 units)
This course prepares doctoral CFT students to develop advanced teaching competencies applicable to higher education and professional training contexts. Students will explore foundational pedagogical theories, instructional strategies, course and curriculum design, assessment, and feedback methods. The course emphasizes systemic thinking and its application to teaching, experiential and collaborative learning methods, and critical reflection on teaching practice. Students will gain hands-on experience through teaching demonstrations, peer feedback, and participating in class discussions. The course addresses teaching in both in-person and online learning environments and prepares students to navigate complex classroom dynamics, including issues of power, diversity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
