This program provides a strong foundation in the basic concepts of the business and corporate system. The program introduces students to a broad spectrum of situations in business and management with an emphasis on practical applications.
Program Rationale:
The MGSM is dedicated to providing open access to undergraduate business programs of the highest quality, and relevance. MGSM’s curriculum is unique in that it places a strong emphasis on professional development. The Business and Management Undergraduate programs offer students the opportunity to become a member of a cadre of professionals who can successfully lead local and global corporations. Our courses are designed to provide an integrated and well-balanced theoretical- and practical-oriented approach to the study of business. MGSM undergraduate students are encouraged to develop a strong intellectual, practical and multicultural expertise in their respective fields.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the interdisciplinary theoretical foundation that underlies the practice of business and management,
- Apply pertinent theories and principles in the conceptualization and design of business and management projects, programs and campaigns,
- Understand and able to apply systemic and critical thinking skills to the analysis and design of business and management projects, programs and campaigns,
- Demonstrate a world view that reflects cultural appreciation and sensitivity and a sense of equity and social justice related to business and management,
- Interpret and apply business, communication and management theories and principles in diverse organizational, workplace, cultural and leadership situations,
- Competent in consulting with and leading clients through the business and management planning process from conceptualization to implementation,
- Understand the impact of technology on communication related to business and management,
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation in conceptualizing, designing and implementing business and management projects, programs and campaigns,
- Design and implement pertinent written, spoken and visual strategies and tactics for business and management projects, programs and campaigns,
- Assess and evaluate the outcome(s) of an implemented business and management project, campaign or program

Students may enter Alliant with 45 units but will be required to take additional courses to those listed in the Degree Completion Requirements. Students who have completed at least 24 credits are qualified to attend Alliant’s Open University to earn the additional required credits needed for enrollment into the Bachelor’s Program. Accelerated Path to the MBA
Seniors who have at least a 3.0 GPA may take up to three graduate-level courses as undergraduates and have those courses applied toward the completion of the Bachelor’s degree. With a grade of B or better in the graduate courses, the credit may be also applied toward the MBA at the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management. This means that a student can start the MBA already having earned up to 9 units of graduate credit. |
