Criminal Justice: BS with Legal Studies Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with Legal Studies Concentration program is designed to prepare individuals to work under the supervision of attorneys to use skills, knowledge, and comprehension to assist in the delivery of legal services in sophisticated legal settings including law office management and government agencies.

Program Outcomes


  • Students will demonstrate foundational knowledge of key areas of organizational functioning.
  • Students will articulate their knowledge of law and procedure and the processes that guide them in the legal/criminal justice systems.

Legal Studies Concentration Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will prepare effective legal documents.
  • Students will perform legal research and communicate the results clearly and concisely.
  • Students will apply principles of legal ethics in a work environment.
  • Students will analyze substantive and procedural issues which arise under the law.
     

Curriculum and Degree Requirements


The minimum number of units necessary to receive the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with Legal Studies Concentration degree, including courses for the major, the business core, general education, and free electives, exclusive of foundation courses is 120 units.

    1. Oral/Written/Visual Communication (must take EN150T and EN230T to ensure Oral Communication unless comparable courses have been taken/transferred in)
    3. Math/Data Analysis - must choose College Math and another course which fits the needs of the student’s chosen major/profession
  • Two (2) each from Groups 2, 4, and 5
