Program Description/Overview


This program prepares candidates to provide ABA services to individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families in homes, schools, clinics, hospitals, and community-based settings. This program meets the behavior-analytic coursework requirements for those pursuing the BCBA pathway 2 eligibility route.

Program Learning Outcomes/Goals


Upon completion of this program, students will:

  1. Demonstrate fluency of the principles, concepts, and philosophical underpinnings of applied behavior analysis.
  2. Design, select, and deliver behavior-analytic interventions that are culturally and contextually appropriate to improve quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  3. Work collaboratively and respectfully with families, interdisciplinary teams, and others to support meaningful outcomes for individuals with I/DD.
  4. Demonstrate compassionate and ethical decision-making that ensures the dignity and autonomy of all individuals with I/DD.
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Professional Behavior Expectations/Ethical Guidelines


Students are expected to follow professional and ethical standards set forth by Alliant International University and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board throughout the duration of the MS in ABA program.

Licensure


Licensure to practice behavior analysis is required in 39 out of 50 states. For more information about what states require licensure to practice behavior analysis and what board oversees licensure in each state, please visit: Licensure of Behavior Analysis in the United States.

Our program is aligned with the upcoming accreditation standards set forth by the Association for Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA).
