ENG 1000 - Foundations in English Composition

This course introduces students to the principles of expository writing. The emphasis is on learning to organize and express ideas clearly and effectively; developing critical reading and thinking skills; applying strategies of the writing process such as pre-writing, drafting, revising and editing to the production of written documents; and adhering the conventions of standard written English. To be eligible to take ENG 1106, students must demonstrate competency in ENG 1000, which is defined as a grade of “C” or higher.
Prerequisites: Passing ENG 0999 or passing the English Placement Test at a level sufficient to enter ENG 1000
