BUS 7020 - Quantitative and Qualitative Research Design(3 units) This course offers an introduction to the logic of research design. Emphasis is placed on the logical bases of measurement, research design, statistical inference and the correct interpretation of statistical tests. Course topics include a discussion of types of variables, measurable research questions in the context of dissertations, scales of measurement, the nature of correlational, quasi-experimental and experimental research and designs, control group strategies, and hypothesis testing using the corresponding ANOVA, MANOVA, and related analysis techniques. Methods of analyzing, writing and presenting qualitative research are presented, and ways of linking quantitative and qualitative data are addressed.
Prerequisites: BUS 6210 and BUS 8910
