EDU 6814-B - Collaborative Field Experience and Seminar

This required 2-semester course supports the classroom special education teacher‘s immediate needs, fully addressing the teacher who assumes full-responsibility for the mild/moderate disability classroom. The Intern has a university field supervisor assigned for support and coaching as well as a school site support provider. This course also has monthly seminars, which address and integrates theory into the very practice al daily experiences of the Intern teacher to assure the advancement of the mild/moderately disabled student. All Candidates will demonstrate full competency on the full range of Teaching Performance Expectations.

Each intern is assigned and supported by a university field supervisor (6 visits per semester) and school site support provider. One Saturday per month the interns gather as a cohort in seminar to address theory and practice of the professional special educator.
