ECO 3000 - Principles of Economics(3 units) The course introduces principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, with a focus on current global issues, from the multiple perspectives of currently competing schools of thought in economics. The course covers the fiscal and monetary roles of government, including central banking; the economic roles of households and firms; the interrelation of economic perspectives with perspectives in marketing, politics, management, and the humanities; and how supply and demand influence prices, productivity, inflation, and employment. Students will gain knowledge that can be applied to their personal and professional lives as well as to ongoing study in management and economics. (Alliant Mexico only)
