PH 312T - Global Business Ethics(3 units) Emphasis for this course will be placed on the interconnectedness of business, technology, social institutions, and cultural values of developed and emerging nations. An examination is made of the wealth and power of transnational corporations and their impact on local economies in both the home and host countries. Focus is also directed on the history of and need for an ethical framework for determining the appropriate standards that decision-makers, managers, and employees of transnational corporations should consider and make given the culture, laws, and social mores of their home and host countries. These same standards will also be applied to the problems of risk management in the global business community and marketplace.
